BIO

Born in Italy, Erica Covolan is a Sydney-based multi-disciplinary artist whose work encompasses painting, drawing and printmaking.

Her personal experience of migration heavily permeates and informs her approach to artmaking, weaving personal memories with the aim of exploring places, objects, feelings and forms that are in between, in constant flux between two opposites, impermanent and ephemeral, subject to constant change.

After moving to Sydney in 1999, she attained an Advanced Diploma of Interior Design and worked for some of the most prominent Interior Design and Architectural firms in Sydney for more than 10 years.

In 2016 she decided to follow her lifelong passion for art, starting with short courses in illustration, ceramic, painting, and drawing. In 2020 she enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Art course at the National Art School in Darlinghurst, which she will complete in 2022 majoring in Printmaking.
